Samsung going Anolog Way - To Release an Android based Smartrwatch

Samsung Galaxy Gear to be an Android-based smartwatch?
When it comes to Samsung's rumoured smartwatch, we've been under the impression that the wearable would be introducing itself as the Samsung Gear.
However a newly-surfaced trademark application strongly suggests the gadgetry will in fact be dealt a middle name, making it the Samsung Galaxy Gear.
Yeah, yeah, we know - the name change isn't a huge deal in itself. But if this is a lockdown on the name then it does reveal that Samsung's wearable will be more overtly slotting into the Galaxy ecosystem.
Join the dots together and this is a decent indicator that the watch will be running on Android, given that all of Samsung's other Galaxy devices do so.

What's more, the trademark filing gives a nicely fleshed-out description on what Samsung's cooking up, describing a "wearable digital electronic devices in the form of a wristwatch, wrist band or bangle capable of providing access to the Internet and for sending and receiving phone calls, electronic mails and messages."
A trademark is a trademark and, as you're probably aware, it doesn't mean that this is what Samsung will be putting out.
However we'd say that none of this is surprising, and putting a potential wearable into the Galaxy system only seems a logical move for Samsung.
IFA 2013 is shaping up to an interesting one. Time to clear some space on our wrists.
