Samsung officially Launches Samsung Galaxy Core Plus

Samsung recently rolled out its new Android smartphone in Taiwan called the Samsung Galaxy Core Plus. While most of the company’s devices get much fanfare this one was rolled out quietly. The reason for this might be because instead of improving on the model it follows which is the Samsung Galaxy Core; this new model looks to be a downgrade.

Both the older generation Samsung Galaxy Core and the new Samsung Galaxy Core Plus have identical specifications except that the latter actually has lesser RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Core has 1GB of RAM while the Galaxy Core Plus only has 768MB of RAM. Prices of both devices are also similar.

Samsung Galaxy Core Plus Technical Specifications

The 4.3 inch display of this model may be large however its resolution of 480 x 800 isn’t that great. One useful feature of this device though is its dual-SIM functionality. This makes it easier for users to separate their business and personal contacts.

Those who own the original Galaxy Core really have no reason to get this “upgraded” version which in reality is a downgrade.

Why did Samsung release this model?
Experts are speculating that the company is maximizing the use of its 768MB RAM chips which is also being used in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. Six 768MB RAM chips are used on these models to reach its 3 GB RAM. There might be an excess of 768MB RAM which is why the Galaxy Core Plus exists.

Despite being a downgrade the Samsung Galaxy Core Plus is a solid Android smartphone that performs smoothly. This device is available in Taiwan for 7,990 TWD ($270).
