Samsung Galaxy S5 to feature super high resolution WQHD display

Samsung has reportedly started to manufacture the super high resolution displays for its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5. Samsung has long been at the forefront of the mobile display industry, and it’s next step will be creating displays with resolutions that are sharper than we’ve ever seen on a mobile device.

DDaily, a Korean news outlet, said it has learned from industry sources that Samsung is already manufacturing WQHD displays (2560 x 1440) that will be used in the Galaxy S5. The screens also reportedly measure 5.2-inches, which means Samsung is either working to make the Galaxy S5 slightly larger than the current generation, or the screen will reach even further to the borders for a more complete edge-to-edge design.

WQHD displays should certainly be a nice bump from the 1080p screens we have today, though Samsung is also reportedly working on 4K UHD mobile screens. Those will have an even sharper 3840 x 2160 resolution.
